On May 23rd, Ding Xuexiang, a member of the Politburo Standing Committee of the CPC Central Committee and Vice Premier of the State Council, attended the China-Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Forum on Industrial and Investment Cooperation in Xiamen. He read a congratulatory letter from President Xi Jinping and delivered a speech.

Hosted by the National Development and Reform Commission and the People’s Government of Fujian Province, the forum convened under the theme "Looking to the Future, Jointly Promoting High-Quality Development of Industry and Investment Cooperation between China and GCC Countries." It drew around 600 representatives from Chinese and GCC government sectors, industries, enterprises, and financial institutions.
