According to the recent project initiation list of high-level majors of higher vocational colleges in Xiamen released by Xiamen Municipal Bureau of Education, three majors of Xiamen Institute of Software Technology held by Lianfa Group were selected, namely Animation Production Technology, Software Technology, and Computer Network Technology. The list consists of 20 high-level majors that Xiamen has decided to primarily support and build centering on the development needs of advanced manufacturing industries, modern service industries and strategic emerging industries, which can lead reform, dovetail with industries and support development.

Meanwhile, the school's software and network technology major group was included in the first batch of service industry characteristic major groups of vocational colleges in Xiamen. The software and network technology major group, comprising majors of Software Technology (Programming), Software Technology (Game Development Technology), and Computer Network Technology, ties in actively with the three industrial chains of software and information services, cultural creativity, and modern services to form a major pattern that fits in with the regional economy and industrial structure.

Xiamen Institute of Software Technology is the largest software talent training base in Fujian Province. Its selection into the Construction Program of High-level Majors of Higher Vocational Colleges in Xiamen and the service industry characteristic major groups of vocational colleges is a full demonstration of the steady improvement of its strength in school operation.
